As many of you are aware, the ENS team deployed the new registrar for ENS names. Due to the issue outlined in our previous blog post, this inadvertently locked names that were held in the auction contracts on Name Bazaar.

When this was discovered, we reached out to the ENS team to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. The ENS root key holders have approved the transfer of the ENS root to a new dedicated holding contract. This was a necessary step in resolving this issue with Name Bazaar.

As of today, the names affected by this issue have been released back to their owners. All users now have full control of their names and will be able to migrate them to the new registrar. As a reminder, you have until May 4th, 2020 to migrate your names. You can refer to a recent blog post from the ENS team for a step by step guide on how to migrate the names.

When you migrate your name to the new ENS registrar, you will get your deposit for the original registration back and the name will be active for one year. After May 4, 2020 you will need to renew your name each year, much like like you do with traditional domains.

Please join our Discord server or follow us on Twitter to find out when Name Bazaar relaunches. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
